Random Questions with Larry Fields Tuesday February 2 2021 at 8:00 PM

Sandrell Rivers Theater
× Random Questions with Larry Fields is FTF’s newest virtual program. Just as the title suggests the show is a fun, off-the-wall take on a talk show based around a series of rapid-fire random questions. Some of the questions are ridiculously off-the-wall (if you were a disease which one would you be?), some are like a Rorschach test (how old do you want to become?) others are designed for long-form answers (Tell us about a time you made a fool of yourself)—but they are all designed to bring out the fun side of our guests and to highlight their unique personalities through humor. The interview is in many ways like an improv game—it works best when the participants go with it (the “yes, and” approach), no matter how silly or vague the questions may be. For instance, if a question is vague, it works best for the guest to interpret it how they choose to interpret it, likewise, if a binary choice question is asked and both answers are terrible, it’s more fun for the guest to pick one choice than to say “none of them.” In that same spirit, all answers can be expounded upon at the guest’s whim—any question that prompts an anecdote is welcome—The show is fun and light. The questions are truly randomly selected before each show from a list of more than 220 random questions, ensuring that each night’s show is truly unique. The show is 30 minutes long and is broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube via remote interview (Zoom). Guests are all FTF alumni—both past and present, featuring performers, directors, designers, etc.—all the kinds of people who make FTF possible. This show is our way of celebrating our great and talented artists both on stage and off—and it’s a gig in the pandemic!

One@SRT: Isabel Tucen's Soul by Soul Saturday February 6 2021 at 8:00 PM

Sandrell Rivers Theater
× Fantasy Theatre Factory (FTF) at the Sandrell Rivers Theater (SRT) presents the ONE@SRT series. This program was developed to provide a space dedicated to the staging and sharing of one-person shows. This initiative is part of FTF’s plan to safely present cultural entertainment. This performance will premiere at the Sandrell Rivers Theater while simultaneously simulcasting it on Facebook & YouTube.

Harriet Tubman (1820-1913), a woman who loved and trusted God to order her steps without abandon. She made 19 trips and escorted 300 slaves to freedom. With her courage and selflessness, she was one of the most famous "conductors" of the Underground Railroad. Writing this show, Harriet has taught me to use my voice and advocate relentlessly for the things I believe in, no matter how hopeless things may get, to always have faith, and to serve with an open heart. Soul by Soul is the culmination of coming together as a community and standing together no matter our differences. In the state of the world we are living in, I challenge myself and others to be a Harriet. Is there a Harriet in you?

Face coverings are still required on all individuals. Social distancing requirements will be enforced.
