The Moth StorySLAM is a community-focused, open-mic storytelling competition in which anyone can share a five-minute story on the night‘s theme. The MOTH hosts live storytelling events in cities around the world, and Fantasy Theatre Factory is thrilled to welcome The Miami MOTH to it's StorySLAM home at the beautiful Sandrell River's Theater!

Embark on a magical journey through Black History with "Heroes in My House"! A young Black student is tasked with choosing an important figure for his presentation, but with so many options, he seeks advice from his Grandma's kitchen. Suddenly, the titans of Black History spring to life, including some unexpected heroes he never knew about. This feel-good show educates and entertains, celebrating the many contributions of Black Americans to American History. Don't miss this exciting adventure!

Twelve-year-old Katie Green is directing Shrek the Musical Jr. for her Bat Mitzvah Project with 22 incredibly talented cast and crew members!

Get ready for an epic adventure! The Dirty Duke has kidnapped the Queen of Clean and the Three Mess-Keteers must save her and the environment! In this hilariously educational show, children will learn about the importance of environmental conservation while becoming part of the action. Inspired by Alexandre Dumas' classic novel, this adaptation tackles current ecological issues with physical comedy, audience participation, and exciting swordplay. The Mess-keteers must journey to the polluted Kingdom of Clean and defeat the Duke of Debris and his nasty knights. Join the quest and learn that it's "all for one and one for all" when it comes to protecting our planet!

Hundreds of hopeful contestants attended preliminary auditions held in distinct geographic neighborhoods, including the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables, and the Sandrell Rivers Theater in Liberty City. Participation is free and limited to residents of Miami-Dade County. The competition featured individual categories inlcuding pop/rock/rap vocals, musical theatre/jazz standards/classical vocals, dance, musical instrument, original spoken word and original vocal and/or instrumental composition.
