× Fantasy Theatre Factory's Music@SRT is back! Join us on June 1 at 8 p.m. as Cortadito with a Grammy Award Winning guest, Nestor Torres, legendary flute player, take the stage for one night only celebrating traditional lively Latin music for everyone to enjoy and dance!

Nestor Torres, Flautist (Jazz & Classical), Grammy Award Winner, Multi- Grammy Nominee, Music Educator, Inspirational Speaker, Community Leader, and Activist studied at Berklee College of Music, Mannes School of Music in NYC and later at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Torres’ career includes collaborations with Herbie Hancock, Tito Puente, Gloria Estefan, Kenny Loggins, Dave Matthews, Paquito D’Rivera and Arturo Sandoval to name a few as well as performances with The New World, Cleveland and Singapore Symphony Orchestras. Nestor has released 18 CD’s to date and has earned 4 Latin Grammy nominations, 1 Latin Grammy Award, and a Grammy nomination. His playing incorporates a seamless blend of Latin jazz, pop, straight-ahead jazz, and classical styles. He has been described as "an exotic mix of styles that takes the listener through American, Brazilian, and Afro-Cuban jazz." Throughout his illustrious career, Nestor Torres has been the recipient of many awards, including two honorary doctorate degrees from Barry University and Carlos Albizu University, for his commitment to youth, education and cultural exchanges.

Cortadito, known as the Buena Vista Social Club of Miami, is a traditional music group which focuses on performing the music of early 20th century Cuba. From Son Montuno, Guaracha, Boleros, Nengon, and Bolero Son, this dynamic ensemble brings you back to a time when Trio Matamoros or Ignacio Piniero ruled the airwaves - an era when popular music was Cuban Music and Son Montuno was influencing the world over. Led by musicians Jose Elias and Julio Cesar Rodriguez Delet, the group has performed several times with Eliades Ochoa, an original member of world-famous Buena Vista Social Club.
