The Liberty City Family Matters Portrait Series showcase individuals and family that are staples of the community throughout the Model City Area. The faces of the children depicted in these portraits by renowned artist C.J. Latimore, are the faces of our future. They represent dreams and hope; intelligence and determination; inner peace and parental guidance; thoughtfulness and teamwork, and fierce self-esteem. These inspiring artworks bring to life a positive environment where families can reflect on their existence as a community, their beliefs and their values.

CJ Latimore, (born in Ridgeland, SC), lives and works in South Florida and Long Beach, CA. CJ Latimore received his Bachelors in Fine Arts from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida and his Masters Degree in Computer Science from Barry University, Miami Shores, Florida. Latimore’s artworks are mixed media pieces combining digital mixed media with acrylic paints and textures that evoke the look and feel of textiles. Latimore’s work is focused on community-driven and socially-engaged topics, illustrating His mission to "Keep Your Legacy Alive." Other major public art commissions include those for the HistoryMiami Museum, 1999, and for the Historical Society of Long Beach, CA, 2006. CJ Latimore received the JM Family African American Achievement Award in 1999.
