New Year, New Works: Trans-Itions by Donna Warfield

Fantasy Theatre Factory at the Sandrell Rivers Theater invites you to its third annual New Year, New Works! play reading series every Sunday in March 2020. The series seeks to promote the creation of new works by Florida playwrights. Support local, upcoming artists and enjoy a display of play readings covering a wide variety of diverse subjects.

TRANS-ITIONS by Donna Warfield. Bette, a late middle-aged woman, now living alone, has raised her son, Will, as a single mother. Will’s life is now busy and complicated, and he is no longer visiting her weekly, but a get-together has been planned for this evening. Unbeknownst to Will, Bette has invited someone whom Will despises, to give her the courage to tell Will about a decision she has made. Will arrives and plans on finally telling Bette about a momentous change he is about to make in his life. Working at cross purposes they both discover that sometimes it’s easier to ask for acceptance than it is to give it.
